Jennifer & Matt * The Art of Joy at Mount Tabor

The music for Jennifer and Matt’s wedding was provided by their friends and family who sang “Here Comes the Bride” while Jennifer walked down the aisle. The couple were married at the summit of Mt. Tabor beneath the trees, and then lead their guests to the volcano. Kids played on the playground, adults noshed on a wonderful buffet, and sipped ale from Widmer Bros. After dinner entertainment was provided by the Kung Pao Chickens and Bocci Ball on the lawn. It was a delightful day and we were thrilled to be a part of it!

Tanae & Craig tied the knot at the Lan Su Chinese Garden while family and friends watched the from across the picturesque pond. After ceremony, guests sipped wine and roamed the beautiful gardens before being treated to a delicious dinner buffet, cake and dancing. The Lan Su Chinese Gardens are really one of the hidden gems in Portland, and it shined even more with the joy of Tanae and Craig!

Here’s a little sneak peek at Tiffany and Chris’s Southeast Portland Wedding. The Arista Ballroom was the setting for the wedding and reception, but we took a spin down to Laurelhurst Park for some portraits beforehand. It turns out that Tiffany grew up across the street from the iconic Portland landmark so it was very touching to photograph the next stage of her life while commemorating a favorite childhood stomping ground. Then is was back to the Arista for a few more pictures, and the start of their life together. Congratulations Tiffany and Chris – keep an eye out for your Teaser Trailer slideshow!

Anete & Yoav’s Garden Wedding at Gray Gables Estates

It was a total treat to spend some extra time while Anete prepared for her wedding to Yoav at Gray Gables Estates. I’ve never seen anyone who was so utterly excited and completely at peace at the same time. The evening included traditions from Anete’s home country of Latvia and Yoav’s Israeli roots, games for the guests, magic tricks, and beautiful toasts. Family in Israel watched the ceremony in live time via live internet feed. The evening was continued with toasts offered by Anete’s mother, who made the journey from Latvia, and their adopted Portland. Cake and dancing topped off the couple’s joyful day.

Tuesday is “Shoes Day”

I have an album of shoes – yes, just shoes – on display at The Wedding Lounge. While traditional white wedding shoes are always in style, more and more I find our brides incorporating a little fun, color, and pizazz when it comes to the shoes they wear to walk down the aisle. This year, I don’t want to wait until the next volume of “Art of Shoes” so I’ve decided to share a pair every week.

Amanda wore some hot pink and rhinestone sandals for her wedding. Fun enough right there, but I was totally charmed by her added “something blue!”

For me, Fiona and Jesse ushed in the summer with their sunny hilltop wedding at Council Crest. After greeting family and friends, we hopped in the Eco Shuttle for a tour of Portland including St. Johns and a favorite tree in Northeast. Finally, we shuttled to to the World Trade Center for an evening of drinks, dinner, and dancing (and song from Jesse to his new bride! That groom has some pipes!)
