Tanae & Craig tied the knot at the Lan Su Chinese Garden while family and friends watched the from across the picturesque pond. After ceremony, guests sipped wine and roamed the beautiful gardens before being treated to a delicious dinner buffet, cake and dancing. The Lan Su Chinese Gardens are really one of the hidden gems in Portland, and it shined even more with the joy of Tanae and Craig!

Anete & Yoav’s Garden Wedding at Gray Gables Estates

It was a total treat to spend some extra time while Anete prepared for her wedding to Yoav at Gray Gables Estates. I’ve never seen anyone who was so utterly excited and completely at peace at the same time. The evening included traditions from Anete’s home country of Latvia and Yoav’s Israeli roots, games for the guests, magic tricks, and beautiful toasts. Family in Israel watched the ceremony in live time via live internet feed. The evening was continued with toasts offered by Anete’s mother, who made the journey from Latvia, and their adopted Portland. Cake and dancing topped off the couple’s joyful day.

Jenny and Jake chose to include all people and places meaningful in their lives when it came to their wedding. Their ceremony at 1st Presbyterian Church included the reading of First Corinthians by Jenny’s 100 year old Aunt Marion. A horsedrawn carriage carried the newlyweds down Main Street to a reception at the Columbia Dance Center. We even stopped at Jenny’s alma matter, The Vancouver School of Arts and Academics, for a quick photo session. All in all, a spectacular day!

The Joy of 2010 * Allison & Erick’s Edgefield Wedding

Allison and Erik were married in the Amphitheater at McMeniman’s Edgefield and then lead their guests to a dinner celebration at Blackberry Hall. As some of you remember, we had a wet, wet, June in 2010, but the clouds parted for an outdoor ceremony – not that anyone would have noticed otherwise with the brilliant smiles on the couple’s faces all night long!

The Art of Joy * Shay and Todd’s Wedding at Pearson Air Museum

Shay and Todd kept it local. Both actively involved residents of Vancouver, they chose a local landmark, the Pearson Air Museum, for their celebration…despite the fact that neither one of them were “all that into airplanes.” The event was catered by Beaches restaurant, and Divine Bites provided one of their yummy cupcakes for each guest to take home. In all honesty, it feels weird for me to start off with the vendors of a wedding, but in talking to the couple, it was very important for them to keep it local.

Just as important, if not more so, was to include their daughters in the ceremony, and their dearest family and friends in the entire celebration. The room was buzzing with anticipation before the ceremony and erupted into huge applause after a kiss sealed the deal. Eating, drinking, and merriment followed well into the evening! And yes, Shay rocked the dress, don’t you agree?

PS – Big shout out to AJ Lane for the fabulous hair and make up! I always, always, always love when it’s “Team AJ!”

Historic and modern Portland complimented each other perfectly when Megan and Jeff were married in an intimate ceremony at the Oaks Pioneer Chapel, then partied the night away with family and friends at the Jupiter Hotel.

Hayley and Matt tied the knot a month ago in Abigail’s Garden at The Abernethy Center. It is now time for them to sit back and enjoy a few more images before the whole wedding is released!

The Art of Joy * Pam & Matt’s Wedding Celebration

Much to Pam and Matt’s delight, the perfect summer day came on their October wedding day. The ceremony had some fabulous personal touches: their dogs, Molly and Schroeder, serving as ring bearers, and a friend of the couple sang one of the most charming songs I’ve ever heard at a wedding. After they two exhanged vows, rings, and the goblet was broken, they treated family and friends to appetizers and cocktails on the patio, followed by a lush dinner, and some spirited dancing. When it was our time to leave, the party was still going full steam!

We had the opportunity to work with some fabulous people! Big Ups to The Waverley Country Club for the fabulous setting, service, and dinner and to Geranium Lakes Flowers for the gorgeous bocquets and table arrangements!

Congratulations Pam and Matt! You’re slide show will be ready soon and your images will be done on or before November 2nd!
