Sharon and Bill’s wedding wins the “I never thought I’d…” award for 2010. I never thought I would be photographing a bride and groom having a snowball fight in June. And yet, it seemed perfectly natural for this couple who traveled from Alaska for their Timberline wedding.

Sharon and Bill’s Timberline Wedding.

My friend Eric Wright coined the perfect term – June-uary – to describe our recent weather, and I think it’s how I’ll remember Sharon and Bill’s wedding. They were married on a bright sunny June day , outside at Timberline Lodge, while skiers and snowboarders frolicked on the runs. Of course, when a couple travels to Oregon from Juneau, Alaska, a little bit of snow is business as usual, right?

Bill and Sharon flew in from Alaska to exchange their vows at Timberline Lodge under a bright blue sky. (My local Shutter Monkey followers will know the significance of the sky color as we’re still wringing out from nearly three weeks of straight rain!)

Both avid outdoors people, they were all for hiking up the mountain a bit for a few more images…and couldn’t help but take advantage of the June snow!

Well, at least they behaved themselves at the cake cutting!

Aslinn and Aaron’s Teaser Trailer!

Time for a recap: It was a brisk 16 degrees on the mountain (not including wind chill factor), but a warm and beautiful time inside Timberline Lodge as Aaron and Aslinn exchanged their vows in the Raven’s Nest. The morning ceremony was followed by a reception of a scrumptious brunch buffet, followed by toast, cake cutting, and dancing to a very special band!

Congrats Aaron and Aslinn!

The morning ceremony was followed by a reception of a scrumptious brunch buffet, followed by toast, cake cutting, and dancing to a very special band!

Let talk about the band! The band included:

Aslinn’s bridesmaid, Heather,

Her Father,

who were joined by her aunt and uncle (who brought down the house with their rendition of “Jackson” by Johnny Cash and June Carter.)

The crowd would have no part of “this is the last song”, stomped and hollered for one more….

…and totally got their way!

All and all, a warm and wonderful day! Thanks for letting us be a part of it!

Encore! A sneak peek at Aaron and Aslinn’s Timberline Wedding

Aaron and Aslinn were married in the Raven’s Nest at Timberline Lodge on Saturday. As you can see, nobody was ready for the celebration to end, and the bride, groom, and guests rallied for one last song.

The bride got her wish!

Andy and Annie were married at Timberline Lodge. Brittney had the honors of shooting this gorgeous event in the shadow of Mt. Hood.
